There's a school in operation on part of the Abbey grounds.
Otherwise it's mostly a very well-preserved ruin.
We had really helpful audio guides, which chronicled the story of the battle & gave details about William, Harold, & their motivations for fighting.

Enough history. Time for a pint.
From Battle we drove to Rye, another small town in East Sussex.
We didn't have too much time there, so we had no particular agenda in Rye & ended up just strolling around.
A bit of wandering's followed happily by a pint. Or two.
So concludes another day of JB & Calee in England. In the next post, we return to Oxford & drink more beer!
